26 Aug Pictures from two new leases we picked up over the summer.
The benefit of our online lease map distribution is all have access to all updated maps all the time. The consequence is that all members must ensure they have the most current maps before they hunt and not rely on the ones used for scouting or from last season. Hunter safety under our system of hunter separation is enhanced with the correct maps.
25 Aug Waterfowl Special - Wetlands DevelopmentOver the past two weeks, mother nature cooperated with extreme hot weather, which helped us complete our new duck lake project on the west side of Fisher's Lake in Henry B. Once full, the additional surface acres of water should be closer to 10, which is about twice as predicted earlier.
The field is long and narrow in the middle, which will create a north and south pool for the ducks to work. We left all of the oak trees and cleared the undesirable trees for open water. After each season, we will drain the lake to keep the oak trees alive and once the ground dries, plant some type of feed for the ducks.
The accompanying picture series for this update is larger than one page will hold. Have a look at the work. August 2006 Wetlands development page 1 2 3 4
This is the same wetlands project we reported on July 26 (see for aerial of work area).
