Mule Deer Hunts

Many parameters exist within our approach to a private land deer lease that the average hunter simply does not have time to perform and specific to each of our three states (Iowa, Missouri, Kansas).

Our approach has deer hunter flexibility.

In general any one deer hunter that attempts to lease land sufficient to provide the range of habitat and within the right region of even one state will find the pitfalls greater than time available to overcome. The point is we are the ones experienced at leasing private land and that experience gains the most return for money spent. Just as any truck owner seeks the best mechanics to work on their trucks so should deer hunters seek those with the most experience leasing deer land.

In terms of Mid-America Hunting Association's lease advantages they include we live and travel all three states gaining first hand knowledge of where the better hunts are to be found. A hunter on his own would use what most would agree are inherently incomplete resources for finding better regions by using limited assets of trophy record books.

We cover lease holders with liability coverage and have a lawyer well familiar with our operation to talk to other lawyers. This value is greatest when contracting with corporations in the form of land investment groups, farming and bank trusts. These organizations offer large acreage, are specialized farmers frequently leaving wildlife land to wildlife as opposed to small farmers that seek to diversify putting cattle on poor ground. These corporation landowners are far more likely to deal with another long standing business entity such as Mid-America Hunting Association than with any non-specific hunter or group of hunters.

We have the financial wherewithal to lease the amount of corporate acreage every hunter requires to scout and hunt as well as change to regional shifts in production. This combined buying power also allows us to go where we get the most return for our money. We seek out the trophy areas and lease the right habitat within that locality. Having multiple such localities brings options of where to hunt.

Yates Center Kansas is a prime example of an area in the late 80's and early 90's that was a prime trophy whitetail locality burned out by too many local small acreage outfitters and individual lease holders. We avoid these type of locality specific problems.

The final advantage is that we are not a hunting club and as a business know very well what it takes to satisfy hunters and gain their return business.

An individual or group of hunters will find they can out bid any leasing organization with higher price per acre for smaller acreage than what we will find economically viable to do so, however those hunters than have limited acreage and much internal management to separate all the involved hunters. This point is for the hunter to decide if he wants to hunt with minimal non-hunt effort or spend more money and time taking away from scouting and hunting. When reducing the lease evaluation criteria to cost and time compared to execution hours versus preparation the economic values between a small acreage individual lease and that of large acreage availability contrast heavily.

One aspect Mid-America Hunting Association will never overcome is the emotional attitude promoted by magazine articles, equipment manufacturers and land brokers. That attitude is to be a "real" deer hunter requires all to have an ATV and their own small acreage individual deer lease with food plot. For those not caught up in this emotional appeal they should have an objective look at what Mid-America Hunting Association has to offer with its flexible deer lease approach.

Deer Hunter/Member Feedback

This is one of our long time self guided members, Terry. He has been hunting long enough and has sent in much feedback to the point all there is to be said has been said and he simply sends in his pictures at this point. This kind of courtesy is always welcomed and appreciated by us.

His greatest contribution to our knowledge base of what makes successful hunters is that hunting is not as technical as videos make it out to be and that persistence is the single most contributing factor to successfully putting a buck in the truck.

Most of us within our circle of hunter acquaintances all know a hunter or two with more success than most. Terry is such a hunter. He works at it hard and it pays off. Congratulations Terry on another one. Have a look at some of Terry's other successful hunts?
