Administrative | Kansas Mule Deer hunting is not widely known outside of Kansas and few non-residents chose to hunt Mule Deer. The key points are that the Mule Deer tag is by draw, not many are issued each year and it is more likely than not the hunter will have to apply for several years before successfully drawing a tag. Those that do draw a Kansas Mule Deer tag should consider it the only one they will ever have and place a good effort at pre season scouting, long range shooting and plan to hunt every day of the season. The pictures below show why a good effort is required. Just to see Mule Deer is easy, trying to get a buck in sight is tough and finding a trophy quality rack even more slim. One one three day land run through prime Kansas Mule Deer country all we laid eyes on were doe. What these pictures do show is some Kansas Mule Deer habitat.
