Choice

Within MAHA it is the do it yourself Kansas pheasant hunter's choice where to go pheasant hunting and he has more pheasant hunting locations than time. Try our Kansas wild pheasant hunting and that of Iowa and then hunt more frequently that pheasant region or habitat type that works best for the hunter and his bird dog. Or, without a dog.

Congratulations Klint. We all recognize great dads make great kids. Thank you working with a new youth hunter and for showing how it is done without a dog.

Season Long & All Land

We keep our administration on the simplest terms largely due to being a small staffed organization.

One aspect of this 'simple' approach is to have only one type of membership for all and that membership being for the entire calendar year for all land access, all seasons in Kansas, Missouri and Iowa where we lease hunting land. This simple approach allows for money to be spent on hunting land contracts than on office staff.

The cause for one type of membership is that it takes only one set of operating rules to manage all hunters, pheasant and otherwise. Contrast this to if we offered limited memberships such as day pheasant hunts only, state specific and or hunting discipline specific memberships. Each member would fall into one or more categories of membership and each would have a separate set of administrative requirements such as day scheduling or something more complex as separate map issues dependent upon hunting discipline or state of choice. The end result would be a lot more office work when examining each membership at renewals, season change or at reservation time restricted to a specific state.

Our approach is different. We, at time of membership application, track the hunter based on his primary and secondary hunting interest and then during the season we count the type of reservations by state. The entire idea is never to have too many of anyone type of hunter. By this approach all may hunt all they want and where at their choice.

The reality is that few hunt more than their primary hunting interest the most and dabble in a secondary. And, in terms of the pheasant hunter or upland bird hunter in general he will settle in on one region of habitat or bird density mostly and explore other areas as a secondary.

For the pheasant hunter this means he will run out of time before places to upland bird hunt for both pheasant and Bobwhite Quail.

More

For those seeking more research about the Kansas pheasant hunting, or for that matter the pheasant hunting in Iowa and Missouri as well, we offer what others have told us worked for them. That is to read enough about the pheasants hunts we offer within the basic website. Read several pheasant hunter testimonials and then the rules. From these three sources the reader will be able to develop some 'test' questions to ask us concerning our pheasant hunts, method of operation and service to members. Give us a call, discuss your questions and then we will provide the names and telephone numbers of members who have as a primary interest of pheasant hunting to call and ask the same questions of.

After that research effort to find an expectation of the Kansas pheasant hunting quality to be found there is nothing else to be done except put your money down and try a pheasant hunt. Start in Kansas and then expand to our Iowa pheasant hunting land.
