Membership Levels

We will have all applicants declare a primary and secondary hunting interest at time of application. This builds on the foundation of the self guided hunter in that he/she typically has dedicated him/herself to a pursuit of excellence within one discipline and crosses over to a similar hunting discipline and rarely has time to really apply to a third hunting discipline. An example is the deer hunter that also turkey hunts with the turkey hunting a secondary interest and often in conjunction with a deer scouting effort. It is rare that a deer and turkey hunter also duck hunts and if he does the days on the wetlands are typical low to the point he does not apply any measurable pressure.

The applicant's primary and secondary hunting interest is then applied against the profile of the Association as a whole and the type, acreage and regional location that supports the Association profile. This is fuzzy logic and requires our application of our hunting experience to make sure it all works. The intent is never to have too many of any one type of hunter and that is the means by which all may hunt on their schedule as often as they like and do so without competition from other Association hunters.

No small point about our hunters and organization is the more relaxed and leisurely approach hunters can take to more thoroughly enjoy their hunts. That is made possible by always having more places to hunt than time, no competition with other hunters and having the flexibility to hunt any time during the season. Pictures such as the one below are proof of that benefit Mid-America Hunting Association provides.
