Updates

Missouri deer bow hunting distinguishes itself from that of Kansas and Iowa as opening earlier on September 15 and running continuously through January 15 making it the longest of the three states.

Missouri's archery season is interposed by the rifle deer season in the middle of November and overlaps with Missouri's December muzzleloader season.

Missouri deer tags are also statewide unlike that of Kansas and Iowa being area specific. This along with Missouri's archery tag being a n over the counter or on-line purchase makes all preseason scouting regardless of the time of the year payoff for the fall hunt.

Missouri bow deer hunting is further distinguished from that of Kansas or Iowa as the tag is good for two turkey or deer either sex. the caveat is that only one buck may be harvested before the rifle start date eason or two bucks after the first day of rifle season. Two doe may be harvested at any time and un-necessary to use the basic archery tag for any doe harvest as Missouri also has unlimited low cost doe tags for all hunters.

Missouri continues to not only distinguish itself from that of Kansas and Iowa as Missouri also leads the other two states in quality deer management with a four point one side restriction zone.

In Missouri deer baiting is illegal during the hunting season where as in Kansas deer may be baited with any mineral, grain or processed foods.
