Waterfowl

Thanksgiving weekend has traditionally been known as the start of peak migration of waterfowl on MAHA wetlands. Reports from the hunters over the weekend were slow with teal, wood ducks and other small ducks still the majority in the Middle Zone. Canada Goose hunting has been poor in all areas, but conditions may change
soon with the 10 day forecast in the northern states dropping into the teens at night.

Our pump and source for electricity in Holt County have been broken down for almost a week and we’re crossing our fingers the pump will be running soon.

Several limits of ducks have been reported in Linn County, where the water conditions are ideal. As the cold weather approaches be prepared to break ice early.

For safety purposes, be aware the irrigation lakes in Cass County are deep in certain areas. If you are not familiar with the depth of the water do not attempt to walk on the ice. The same warning applies to dogs. Be safe and keep them on a lead.

Three quick limits of wood ducks is better than a day at school or work.

Traveling Deer Hunters

We have seen this wild bunch before. They always seem to have a good hunt.

Hey John and Jon, Thanks for another fun and successful bow hunt. Please keep up the good work. 4 out of 4 on the bucks and 3 does for a little extra bonus.
