9 Oct FeedbackWe always like to hear from members, good and bad (feedback not members), in any form. Not all are published as many are far more routine than this one provided by Mike. Most feedback lists property numbers to keep/delete, duck counts, bulldozer activity and so on.
John, Went on a little scouting trip to [location deleted] County last week-end and saw the attached mule deer does. Latter that same day, right before dark, there was a magnificent 10 point mule deer buck in the same spot, entirely in velvet. It was too dark to get a photo, but could see real well through binoculars.....Had a great time dove hunting and Teal hunting; lots of doves and a few teal. Saw quite a few coveys and a few roosters. Got my blood boiling.
Thanks Mike, good luck.
GeographyFor those planning their first trip to hunt parts of Kansas a snapshot of some good pheasant country from a lease we picked up new this year. This picture is from the region where the watershed gives way to the gradual increasing elevations moving from crop predominate to cattle country.
It is always interesting to receive feedback from hunters that express curiosity about how early settlers could have survived, how open and productive the ground can be and how empty of people places can be.
In contrast we have Missouri deer country.
It's probably a cultural thing.
6 Oct DuckBy courtesy of the Miller group of hunting buddies. A low profile group that does well regardless of the season. These are pictures from last season.
Thanks guys. Duck hunters always seem the least likely to take pictures. We certainly appreciate all of them.
Conditions Of MembershipWhat is commonly referred to as our rules, Conditions Of Membership, are just that conditions for all members all the time. They are immutable and not negotiable. Those that we suspect fail to comply or attempt to show "good cause" why they above all others should be exempt from the rules simply work themselves out of their membership.
Currently and what has been the case for several years, the most common cause for dismissal has been hunting without reservation. The second common cause is sneaking of guests. We of course require all to obey the rules and do not hesitate to enforce the rules.
None of this is new, most will feel it should not have to be said and we have found occasion again this year as early as it is in the seasons to enforce the rules.
