5 October FishingHad a good catfish trip...the fish were mostly small though and very thin. I think we kept enough for a decent fish fry and enough that the quality of fishing on this particular body of water will improve considerably over the next few years. We should have combined the trip with either dove or goose hunting though...there were enough of both flying around that we could have probably done ok dove hunting from our fishing chairs and setting out some floaters and a few shells for the geese at the other end of the pond...but probably good that we didn't...it was way too relaxing sitting there catching cats to be bothered by shooting something...Matt
Thank you Matt for breaking up the hunting updates with a very welcomed fishing account. For any one that has not seen the Mathew Family fishing legacy have a look to see how to enjoy life.
The Other Side"...Microsoft announced a $100,000 donation to the Humane Society of the United States...will contribute more money..." Bill Gates, the animal lover, by: Travis Holland, 10/4/07, The Bat, The Independent Student Voice of Texas A&M Since 1893.
What HSUS has shown us all is they are better at raising awareness and money than are hunter conservationist groups.
MAHA's Future
Recently, Jon Jr. has been very helpful with maps and duck blinds. We're proud to announce he scouted, negotiated and closed the first lease of his career. Hopefully, we'll see much more of this in the future. |
