Scouting

Hey John,

I thought would share some more of my summer scouting. All of the pictures were taken this last weekend.

The first picture is the bean field that I watched until dusk. I did not see a single deer that night and to me it really indicates the availability of food to include ripe corn.

I noticed that you had a picture of the downed corn on the website and I happen to see some where I was. I tried to take a couple of more pictures that really detailed the downed corn. The area I was in according to locals was the fringe of the hardest hit area. Some of those fields don’t look like they can be harvested, but that of course remains to be seen

There are a couple of pictures of the wildlife I saw over the weekend. It was pretty rare to see any wildlife given the amount of cover available right now.

I tried to include a couple of the artistic photos I took. These pictures depict what we as outdoorsmen get to see all of the time and those who don’t venture out of the city might not see. It is the real reason we hunt.

The last photos I have included is something that most will probably will start to see over the coming years. The town I was near was in the middle of putting up a 27 tower wind farm. It was my understanding that each landowner who allows these on the farm is paid $5000 per year for 10 years with nothing after that. Of note supposedly the city nearby could purchase 4 of the towers to power their city after 10 years. The skyline in many areas could look like these in the near future.

I hope you enjoy some of the photos I took.

Good luck to all this fall, ae

Thank you for the detailed and varied picture presentation. The habitat pictures most will find interesting.
