Waterfowl
The snow and cold snap a couple of weeks ago pushed through some new birds but it only lasted a couple of days. The number of waterfowl hunters has dropped quite a bit, so we've had very little feedback to work with. If anyone has a good field spread now's the time to put in the time.

Deer
John,
Just another note to let you all know how pleased I am with my membership. I've included photos of my [location deleted] rifle kills. I realize these photos may not be worthy of inclusion in the "update" section of the website. Normally, I pride myself on quality field photos, but these field photos were taken with a cheap camera, and subsequent photos in my driveway. My toddler began getting sick the day these photos were taken, making my photography not much of a priority.

The buck pictured weighed 248-pounds, and I took him on our third encounter. The first encounter he still had his entire rack, the second he had already broken it, but this didn't stop him from fighting another buck within earshot of my stand. I killed him the third time, when a hot doe led him 500-yards across an open field to my location. Broken rack or not, I consider a buck like this a trophy. I also tagged a doe on this same hunt.

I decided to try some new (to me) locations this year, and had a great time. I ended up meeting another member during the rifle season, and we plan on doing some bowhunting together next season. I've met a few guys this way, and it's always a pleasure. I find MAHA members to be serious hunters, and good people. This is my 5th season in the association, and the pictured buck my 19th MAHA deer.

Thanks again for doing what you do. It makes my hunting a lot more fun.

Good Hunting, [name deleted]

Thanks for sharing your pictures and thank you for taking a doe as well. We always want to see that every year.
