Traveling Deer Hunter Success
Jon, Just to let you know we had a great time this year hunting. My hunt only lasted 15 minutes on opening day (better to be lucky than not I guess), but everyone shot and we were done by Monday morning. We can't wait to get back out for next years hunt. Hope you all have a good Christmas and a happy New Year. [name deleted]

Take note of the background habitat. More field than wood. A well known observation by local deer hunters is that 20 acres of tall grass is worth a 100 acres in timber.

Thank you all for your pictures, may your luck continue.

Deer Hunter Feedback
From a handful of successful deer hunters that we were able to talk to this season adding to what we have heard over the years.

#1 The deer tagged was not a deer they had seen prior to the hunt. Further defined as the deer harvested was either better than what they had seen or they did not scout at all.

#2 Those that did scout out a trophy whitetail before the hunt rarely saw that deer during the hunt.

#3 Most did not harvest a deer of choice from their first picked spot. Those few that did harvest from their first choice spot hunted that spot for more than a week. Deer harvests ranged from the first to fourth choice farms.

A distant #4 saw a bigger buck than the one they harvested while doe hunting, waiting for a partner to finish his hunt or scouting for next year.

Thank you all that took the effort to give us feedback both by telephone and email.
