Getting Ready
It's getting about time to start thinking about spring turkey season. The birds are slowly starting to pop out of their winter seclusion areas and become visible, but it will take a couple weeks of 40 to 60 degree weather for their spring breeding ritual to begin to bloom.

Joined by another with exceptional long spurs. Typical of pre-season scouting, when the season arrives most likely the hunter will be covered up with jakes.

22 February

A group of seasoned young hunters on a successful January Canada goose hunt, which included 2 cackler's.

Scouting paid off as the birds were glassed using the field 2 days in a row prior to the hunt.

"Blue" with one of her 12 retrieves for the day.

A dog under control such as "Blue" is the end result of her masters manner and style of hunting.

Farming
One more argument for Switchgrass based ethanol fuel source.
"...Collectively, "[ethanol] is clearly not sustainable," says Jerald Schnoor, a professor of engineering at the University of Iowa and co-chairman of an October 2007 National Research Council study for Congress that was critical of ethanol..."
This study was reference to corn ethanol limitation due to available suitable crop acreage, water requirements and world wide grain demands. Switchgrass is more suited to dry growing conditions than corn or any other annual grain based ethanol source. Project Green, Liquid Gold, Ethanol is supposed to be good for the environment.
