23 February

Land
Since the phones have slowed down we're taking advantage of the down time to scout potential new land and existing leases. The weather has been brutal the last two months, but we've had a couple warm spells to work with.

Below is a photo of a farm we are hoping to acquire in the near future, but we might have to wait until 2011 since the land is changing hands due to a death in the family.

It's always good to walk the land vs. scouting from aerial photos since a lot can change from now until the time the aerial photo was taken.

It's always inspiring to see sign like this.

Typically, by late February it’s time to think about a little fishing, especially in the southern regions, but it looks like it's going to be late this year unless there is a drastic change in the weather.

A nice secluded farm pond that didn’t show up on the aerial. Might be a sleeper fishing or duck hunting pond.

Since this region missed the blunt of the bad weather a draw like this could hold some upland birds, which could add some value to the land.

The best the panoramic feature on this camera could do to capture a large segment of this one lease viewpoint.
