Late Goose

Setting up with the proper wind direction is essential.

Quail
Like all hunting, the quail hunting has been hit and miss depending on the weather and determination of the hunter. The northern regions of Kansas and Missouri and Southern Iowa have been most productive, but it takes a full day of walking with good dog work and shooting skills to be successful.

A classic point on a solid covey that safely escaped to the neighbor's property unharmed. This one is for the wall.

A single pointed in the fog by a young dog that has worked hard and made progress due to hard work.

A late December hunt during a warm front that created ideal hunt conditions of damp, cool and just a slight breeze. The quail cooperated as well allowing for many pictures in search of the one to make into an 8x10 for the wall. And, we did bag a few quail as well. More for the dog than us. If we could catch and release quail we would.
