"...The new rules also call for up to 25 percent of WHIP funds to now be available for long-term agreements, up from a previous cap of 15 percent. And, under the rules, USDA-NRCS can pay up to 90 percent of the cost to apply or install conservation practices for certain plant and wildlife habitat. The 2008 Farm Bill also will allow landowners to receive payments to develop wildlife habitat on pivot corners and irregular areas..."
