Deer
The majority of our deer hunters are hunting for a trophy, but many landowners feel we need to harvest more doe to keep the population in check and at the same time, prevent crop damage.

When Justin goes deer hunting, he put's the hammer to the deer, but his hunting partners have been worn out helping him in the process.

Culling the heard is necessary and we appreciate the effort. Thanks Justin and the gang!

Waterfowl
This may be called the season that wasn't for ducks. The general consenses is the mild to abnormally warm winter weather has kept them north. No news on this point. Not only has the central mid-west experienced little snow and much open water northern state Association hunters report similar conditions. One in particular that counts on a side job of snow plowing where a typical winter is around 30 days plowing he has had four so far this season. Goose hunters in contrast have had a good season. One more below, Jim.

These are some pictures from my New Year's pheasant hunt on Mid America properties. We had a great time, beautiful weather. Bird numbers were down, but the dogs worked hard and we had some limits. Included are pictures of limits from two different days in the same area. Thanks again for a great time! Scott Patty~Fran~ Izzie

Thank you Scott. It is a rare day this season for limits.

A local Kansas City weatherman told how the winter to date is the most mild since the 1930's. While there has been some snow it has been of small ground accumulation and of short duration. Many 50+ degree days in December and so far in January. At this point in our year round pheasant and quail forecasting this winter is of no detriment.
