Last week, to take advantage of the heat wave we drained the field west of blind #2 in Henry B. If the weather remains hot the next week or two, we're planning to repair and rebuild the levees surrounding the field to hold an additional 5+ acres of water.

Assuming everything goes on schedule, phase two of this project will continue next summer. Our plans are to drain Fisher's Lake, clean up the debris that has accumulated over the years and plant feed for the ducks in the future.

A hole was cut in the SE corner of the field to drain the water from the field to the slough next to blind 3. A drain pipe will be installed at this point to drain the lake in the future.

The NW corner of the field has had a hole in the levee from floodwater and beavers for years. Thanks to Bruce's initiative, we were able devise a plan and move forward.

The flood water gap later filled by beavers, still later bypassed by flood waters. The planned improvements should allow compete draining of the waterfowl area for ease of spring planting.
