22 July

One of the local ethanol plants that are heard about frequently in the news.

Some of the more efficient ethanol plants move their processed grain waste next door on a conveyor to a cattle feedlot. Part of the local landscape as much as wind powered generators have become.

Late Crops
A photo taken this week of an existing lease in NC MO that was recently planted to beans.

On a normal year, by mid-July the crops are well established and on their way. Due to above average rainfall many of the creek bottoms in north Missouri and southern Iowa have been replanted or planted to beans, but there is still an abundance of corn throughout those regions.

This farm doesn't look like much from an aerial photo but a lot of deer and turkey roam the creek lines.

Picture #2 in the aerial.

On the right day, a field like this is capable of producing goose hunting at it's finest.

The late beans will make more later into the fall and early archery preferred deer forage.
