Seeing a tom strutting during Mid-June is proof summer in the Mid-west is getting off to a slow start.

No till early beans.

Let's cross our fingers for some warm and dry weather. Many farmers are running out of time to plant corn, especially in the river bottoms.
From left to right, TJ and Jon Nee Jr. after their last goose hunt of the 07-08 season.

Jon Nee Jr. has been on call as a multi-task MAHA agent since early childhood. His first true contribution was converting the maps from paper to our online map website. This past summer, he posted some large acreage and successfully negotiated with a hand full of landowners. The nasty wetlands work such as collecting rippy grass, digging out beaver dams and pumping stagnate bar ditches has been a customary way of life for Jon Nee Jr.
He’s currently a sophomore at KSU working towards a Degree in Business. After he graduates and works a year or two on his own, hopefully there will be a permanent position available to him with MAHA.
With all the different types of hunting available, these two have really developed a passion to waterfowl hunt together. TJ Nee is a sophomore in high school and has been in total charge of all new maps and map changes over the past two years. He’s also been very active with waterfowl work and has participated in a wide-variety of quality hunting and fishing over the years. Maybe one day, Jon Jr. and TJ will be fortunate enough to take complete charge of MAHA operations.
