Job Stress
Pretty tough business when the work follows you back to the office.

A duck picture that earned more comments than others. Non-duck hunters see ducks. Duck hunters see much more. The same comments we have received with the several recent and recurring upland bird, pheasant and quail, harvest pictures updates. Some comments were complimentary on the good hunt. Others were comments of those that cannot see what is behind the picture. None can hunt it all and none should try. Those that hunt hard but one discipline have sent in the most enjoyable pictures and stories. And for all, each has a different level of success and hunt enjoyment that should not be compared.

Notes
Good responses to our March 5 Feedback update. We heard from some folks we normally do not hear from. Those that have kept us informed in the past continued to do so. Thank you to all that took the time to send a note. From all that we heard from, it appears things are pretty normal without any standout issues.

Farm Lobby Out Shines The Hunting Lobby
In an effort to bring the suburban voter into the fold of knowledge outside of just being "informed" by animal rights groups the farm lobby created a documentary about: "...The Care & Feeding of Farm Animals..." A presentation showing that farmers and ranchers seek healthy and weather protected livestock as a mean of increasing production rather than what the animal rights groups claim as abusive animal husbandry.
Healthy animals means healthy food, John Schlageck, March 7, 2009, Emporia Gazette.

Soon enough PBS or some other investigative news show will do another presentation of animal rights versus farming and hunting. The farm lobby is positioning itself well to meet that argument while the hunting industry seems content with the courtroom rather than the long term public relations war that makes for future legislation. The difference in approaches has been well demonstrated through California's proposition #2 win by the animal rights lobby.

Quail Hunts
"...My road trip has been really good. I have got my limit on quail again...I did not start hunting until 10:00 am and finished around 3:00 pm...been hunting with my 5 year old female who is really good on quail... We have yet to shoot at a rooster....Lots of quail in my opinion..."

This is Mike's dog. The same Mike that can find all the big Mule Deer and turkey flocks.

Thanks Mike for the feedback. Always good to hear from all hunters.
