21 May

From Jeremy who has a great appreciation for the outdoors and a generous willingness to share some pictures from a late winter scouting trip. We offer his pictures and just enough of his feedback to motivate others.

John,
I am back at it. I waited as long as I could stand to get back out in the woods and it probably wasn't long enough for what I was after. 14 hours spent with my boots on the ground this weekend and I did not find a single shed. Most hunters are reporting that it's still early for serious shed success. The good news is that it was still a pretty incredible weekend.

Total animal report: 30+ mule deer in one herd...over 200 turkeys in various spots...saw over 15 pheasant...

I took my 6 year old with me to get outdoors. He seemed to really enjoy it. Future member I hope.

I was able to pick up a once very promising two year old 10pt skull. Highly symmetrical buck probably scoring around 120. His teeth were still razor sharp. He was massed like an OK 3 year old. Just had incredible potential. I suppose it's possible he wasn't shot and just died natural but man I wish this buck had been given a chance to grow.

...looks like a best kept secret sort of place. It is heavily trailed by deer and shows some great sign, but with it being out there in the middle of nowhere...has some decent stand trees, several old scrapes and rubs, including one that looks two years old that had to be made by a real bruiser. This appears to be a travel corridor between a big valley off property and a high prairie crop field.
Jeremy

Great pictures Jeremy, good luck this season. Thank you.
