Waterfowl
The beans have been cut in Holt County and the pump was turned on Saturday. Typically, it takes at least 10 days to fill.

Waterfowl reservations have been 90% on weekends. Weekdays have been wide open. The opener in the Middle Zone was as foggy as foggy gets, which means conditions were tough, with ample action with a variety of small ducks and a few mallards.

Two separate flocks of gadwall feeding in one of our wade-in areas opening afternoon.

Henry C

Last summer we buried a small concrete pit blind on the island on the south end of Henry C. This weekend we pumped the water out of the blind, built a top and covered the blind. Unfortunately, the water seeped through a crack in the concrete. The pit blind is huntable, but knee deep in water. We're planning to build a sub floor at water level and come up from there, but for the time being it is huntable and we will refer to it as Henry C, blind 4.

When you approach blind 4 you will pass the original blind 4, which is a floater blind. It is covered and sitting on high ground waiting to see what the duck do before we place it.

While we were covering the pit blind opening, there were a lot of ducks flying high over the marsh. This year, Henry C is a very large body of water. It appears large decoy spreads and breaking ice late season will be the way to go.

First MAHA Deer Hunt

Attached is a picture of my archery buck taken on Mid America Property in [location deleted]. I appreciate all your help in getting me started in selecting properties. This was my first time on the Mid America Properties and my biggest bow kill to date.

Congratulations Chip, a good day! Thank you for sharing your picture. It puts more pressure on us to do better.
