WOW
Jack keeps telling me to quit shooting the first deer that comes past. But I just couldn't resist this one. It's the biggest one I've ever shot. Doris

Congratulations Doris! Early season with a recurve! Thank you for sharing.

Everyone wants to see pictures of trophy deer while all will admit responsible deer hunters harvest doe as well.

"...Third doe in a week despite the weather...A few oaks are already dropping acorns and those areas have proven to be hot with activity..."

Thank you for the doe harvest, what we all want to see more of to make for more trophy pictures later.

Upland Birds
The word seems well spread about Kansas' upland bird forecast. Non-member inquires have been on the rise following publication of upper midwest states forecasts including Iowa's downward predictions and the tougher than average northern states' winter and late into spring weather. Much like deer management unit tag holder applicants this year that have been entirely qualified for membership were asked to contact us next year due to having unit tag numbers that reached near maximum for Association land in some units so have bird hunters come near our limits. We are at the point for upland bird primary interest applicants of distinguishing between pointing and flushing/retriever dog hunters combined with distinguishing between predominate pheasant or quail hunters. The bottom line is there is only so much room and that is it.
