About Us

Since 1965, Mid-America Hunting Association (MAHA) has been offering self-guided private leased land hunting across Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa. Our members enjoy various hunting options, including deer, turkey, pheasant, quail, duck, goose, and fishing. Every hunting experience we provide is 100% fair chase of wild game, where we supply the land, and our members bring their licenses, tags, and gear.

The land we lease, totaling 150,000 acres across 73 counties, has been carefully scouted and leased directly from landowners by Jon Nee, who has owned MAHA since 1982. Each farm is accessible via detailed county road maps, aerial photos, and GPS coordinates to enhance your hunting experience.

We ensure quality and safety in our hunts through a streamlined telephone or online reservation system, allowing members to book their hunts 24/7, whether it’s the day of or up to 30 days in advance. Notably, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis for all reservations to provide equal opportunities for every member.

We carefully screen applicants through interviews to ensure that we welcome only responsible sportsmen who respect the land they hunt on. Memberships are limited to avoid overpressure on the game, maintaining a high-quality hunting environment for all.

While lodging isn’t included in membership, we do provide a local lodging list featuring hotels, motels, Airbnb’s, and campgrounds close to our leases to help you plan your stay.

At MAHA, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship and the strict obedience of all club rules, along with state and federal fish and game laws.

Turkey Hunting

We offer the spring turkey hunter access to three top producing states. All hunting is self-guided on private leased land. The season is 8 weeks long with the opportunity to fill 4 tags. We boast an exceptional spring turkey success ratio compared to the state’s averages. Most of our turkey are Eastern, but we do have Rio Grande in Western Kansas.

Duck Hunting

Waterfowl Hunting

Duck Hunting

Managed private wetlands and crop stubble, with permanent blinds, layout, and wade-in areas. The wetlands include marsh, sloughs, oxbows, flooded food plots and open water. Having a variety of wetlands gives you the opportunity to follow the migration and go to where the birds are, rather than relying on a single leased blind or waiting in line at a public area.

Duck Hunting Overview

Goose Hunting

Goose hunt early, regular, and late season for dark geese and spring for light geese over water and crop stubble. Tens of thousands of acres are available giving the hunter the opportunity to scout and hunt where the geese are.

Quail Hunting

Wild bob white quail hunting on small and large private leased farms in Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri. Hunt at your own pace behind your own dog(s) on row crop land spread across 76 counties. Each quail hunter will be allocated 400 to 500 acres per day.

Pheasant Hunting

In recent years, Western Kansas and southern Iowa have been the most productive pheasant hunting regions for our members. The brushy draws and CRP fields adjoining row crop are ideal cover for both the pointing and flushing dog. All birds are wild.

John and Susie do an outstanding job keeping things going smoothly through out the course of the season. I was skeptical at first when I heard about the organization but I have no reservations at all. I really enjoyed being part of this club over the last year. Look forward to being part of this club for years to come.

Best deer hunting experience of my life. If you are willing to put the work in scouting and researching locations- you will be successful. My friend and I joined as first year members, we both tagged out on our first hunt. Highly recommend.

I was a member of MAHA from February 2022 and 2023. It was an excellent experience. Jon and Susie are very helpful. My daughters, our three dogs, and I traveled to Kansas to hunt turkey, deer, dove, ducks, and upland deer. If you are looking for a place to hunt with your kids where you can pursue a variety of game and experience the adventure that is self-guided hunting, look no further.

After having a MAHA membership for 18 years I strongly recommend MAHA. I've been able to harvest 17 bucks and over 20 turkeys on MAHA properties in Kansas / Missouri / Iowa over the years. Nearly all my deer made PY with my biggest deer gross scoring 189 5/8. Nine of the bucks grossed140+. I only bowhunted so having this kind of success wouldn't of been possible without MAHA and their great properties. MAHA 's reservation system is easy to use and everyone has access to make reservations. The staff at MAHA is top notch and have been great answering any questions I had over the years. Being 68 now with knee and shoulder issues its time to let someone else join to enjoy MAHA like I have. My only regret is that I didn't join MAHA when I was I lot younger. Best of wishes to MAHA and thanks for the memories

I've been a member for almost 20 years now, and MAHA has been a great alternative to buying, leasing, and even door knocking for hunting land myself. They provide no-frills land access to hundreds of properties for anyone willing and able to put in the time and effort to scout. New members (and even existing members hunting new areas) receive recommended starting points to help, also. A MAHA membership truly is a great way to save money for those of us who don't need guides/meals/lodges included with our hunts. Definitely worth a call.
